The reasons for quarantining these messages range from unwanted (spam) messages to potentially dangerous ones like phishing emails, where a bad actor tries to get you to click on a link or reveal certain information.
How do I check my Office 365 quarantine?To see your quarantined messages, open your favorite web browser and navigate to the Quarantine page on the Microsoft 365 Defender portal. After a few moments, the screen will have populated with your quarantined messages. The figure below shows an example of the Office 365 Quarantine page.
How do I manage quarantined email messages in Microsoft 365?A Microsoft 365 administrator can manage quarantined email messages from the Quarantine Portal. The Quarantine Portal is available from the Microsoft 365 Security center. Note. There is no way to completely disable the quarantine feature in Exchange Online. You will see a list of quarantined messages that are classified by EOP: Bulk Email.
What is the default quarantine period for email messages in Microsoft 365?Microsoft 365 user has the option to do nothing. In this case, the email will be quarantined for 30 days (by default), after which it will be automatically deleted by EOP policies.
